Senator Weld moved to amend the bill by striking out the title and substituting therefor a new title, to read as follows:

Eng. Com. Sub. For Senate Bill 267—A BILL to amend and reenact §18-5-13 of the Code of West Virginia,1931, as amended, relating to the transportation of students; allowing service personnel to be certified to drive certain county board-owned vehicles to transport students for school-sponsored activities; requiring the vehicles to be insured; clarifying passenger limit; allowing more than one of these vehicles to be used for a school sponsored activity; allowing students to be transported to a school-sponsored activity in a county-owned or leased vehicle that does not meet school bus or public transit ratings if the seating capacity of the vehicle is less than 10 passengers including the driver; removing the limit on the number of students that can be transported by a parent in a privately owned vehicle; and allowing a guardian or other adult approved in writing by the parent or guardian to transport students in a privately owned vehicle.
